Happy Happy Day!

So there's been lots going on in the Thompson household. But I've been dealing with some health issues these last few weeks - better not to go into it here :)   Suffice it to say though, that because of that, Christmas crept up on me pretty fast!
A lot of handmade gifts this year... that I can't show you. lol
And others that I completely forgot to take pictures of! I made pouches and pencil cases for teacher gifts. And other goodies (that will go unmentioned) that I was in a hurry to ship off in time... and never once thought OH! CAMERA! lol!
So.. sadly no sewy photos for you!

But one humongous highlight of this month was the day my daughter got baptized!!
She's ten (and a half). And although she has grown up knowing Jesus, and seeing others being baptized, and then asking when she could... she wasn't there yet.
I wanted her to make that choice on her own - to feel it - to KNOW God, and feel the urging of the Holy Spirit. Not just feel like she ought to, because others were. Know what I mean?
And God is sooo good!
A couple months ago something changed :)
She started seeking, and as he promises - you will find Him!
And boy did she ever!! The questions.. burning questions... the reading... the learning.. the many many many hours of discussion... and the burning desire to know Him and obey him and be saved!
Brings tears to my eyes everytime I think about it!! :)

So in God's perfect timing, our church was having a baptism two weeks later!
Calli was so excited.. and so nervous... and in her ten year old brain, worried that she hadn't done everything that she was "supposed to" before being baptized.  I kept reassuring her that if she had accepted Jesus as her savior and committed her life to him, that was all she was "supposed to do" - his saving grace is His gift to her!
Her two best girlfriends came to support her :)  And I'm so glad they did! Three beautiful young ladies that have been friends for years, and each have a love for God!

The most awesome thing, is that Dan and I got to baptize her!! We gave her the option letting her know the choice was totally hers.. the pastor could.. we could.. even her brother could! We were just giddy she was making this committment to Christ - it didn't matter who did it! :)   So, we were doubly blessed when she chose us to seal the deal!

One of her friends took a video of the actual baptism. But here she is afterward, all wet and smiles :)

And of course a little brotherly razzing :)

And in other news... that young man up there? Has been invited to go into leadership in the youth ministry :) He starts leadership training in January.  (and lacrosse starts in January too!! woohoo!!)
Proud mom?
OH
YOU
KNOW
IT!!!
:)

Wishing you all a very Merry and Blessed Christmas!!
xoxo

That's so wonderful! My 8 year old son has shown an interest in getting baptized and while I think he understands a lot and truly does have a heart to love God, he might need a little time, too. I'm glad that God has blessed your family this way. Merry Christmas!

That is wonderful, I remember when I did it, I was 13 and had the full immersion, something that is forever in my heart. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas.
