Happy Birthday Jesus :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!!!
Today and tomorrow we celebrate the birth, life and incredible gift of Christ Jesus During the Christmas holiday, be sure to remember the reason we share gifts. To commemorate God’s gift of his Son to us.
He gave His life for you. For me. So that we could have life with Him - Jesus took the brunt of all our sins and paid for them in full on the cross that day. God's love for us is SO INCREDIBLE - so mind blowing - it's hard to even get your head around it sometimes!
Christmas makes me cry
because who am i that i deserve that kind of love and forgiveness?? I don't deserve it.
and who is He, that He continually shows such amazing grace and mercy!?
He is God. The one loving and living God.

Thank you Jesus!

Happy Birthday!!

Getting ready for Santa

Been a busy bee the last few weeks! Getting ready for Santa to come!
Running each child out by themselves, so they can do their shopping for their brothers and sisters and everyone! I've been sneaking out whenever I can to do my (read all) shopping, and wrapping, and cleaning and decorating, and cookie making... huh boy! Im tired! LOL!
I don't think anyone really realize how much moms take on during the holidays. Starting with gearing up for Thanksgiving, and going through to new year, it is NON stop - trying to do everything for everybody! lol
I try soo hard to start early and be on top of it, so it's not so difficult during the Christmas season. But this year it really crept up on me and I have been chasing my tail since November! lol

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve, and we will be going to the early church service at 3, and then heading over to Grama's for dinner and presents. Then rolling in late, and trying to get everyone asleep so Santa can come! I am running around like the proverbial chicken getting all those last minute details taken care of. But i needed a small break, and thought it would be a good time to blog :) haha.. cuz i have nothing else i should be doing... right? LOL

our tree... not a "fancy shmancy 'grown up tree'" - but one filled with vintage ornies that each hold memories! A tree of LOVE.

funny but this one is one that brings back some of the biggest memories!

also have plenty of fun funky kid made ornies :) this one was made by my son Gavin -now
17 1/2 - he made this when he was 3. It's Santa - can you tell?

Hand made ornaments from primitive friends.. beaded ones from my grama...

This burlap Stanta is 39 years old :)
My parents bought us each an ornament each year as we were growing up... this was my first.
We have continued that with our children - so our tree has soo many different things on it! Including, Dora's, Barbies, Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles, Snoopy and the gang, glass blown ornies, crocheted ornies... wow you name it!
I tried having a "grown up" tree one year. I thought it was gorgeous!!! And i liked it for the season... but it was missing heart... and all that LOVE!
Yep. so call me a sap! You'll be right! :D

A couple quick pics of the babies... they are spaztic little nerds!
This is their FAVORITE spot to be! On top of the Bose. And everytime they step, they push the buttons (on top of the unit). LOL We have loud music come on out of the blue, on some weird station - at all hours of the day and night! haha!
This is Oreo..

This is Oreo ASLEEP on the bose. LOL Head hangin over totally konked out!

Busted them the other day... haha... i had set my hooking down and went to do something... came back half an hour later and they were crashed out on it. Ho boy!! These little kitties LOVE LOVE LOVE the wool!!!
Funny.. so do i!
I hope you all have an ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL Christmas, and an incredibly blessed new year!

This is the neatest thing! It is computer animated and just mind blowing! :) It won't allow me to put the full thing in here. Take the time to watch the FULL version at atom films! It's soo neat!

So behind...

It's been a few days since I have blogged. This has just been a crazy year, and a crazy December to end it all with! LOL! I diligently cleaned and rearranged furniture last week. Got the tree upstairs and put up - fluffed up and plugged in. :D And that's as far as I have gotten!!! :-o We thought we'd give it a day or two - with the little toddlers on crack trying out their new skills - leaping, flying, jumping, climbing... oh my! Much easier to pull a kitten out of the middle of the tree when there is nothing on it!! But got slammed with a migraine on Sunday, and it didn't let up until yesterday after going to the chiropractor. (ooh that man has healing hands and the power of the Spirit!!) So we still have a BARE TREE! House isn't decorated yet, and hardly anything wrapped! I have to wrap and package up 8 boxes to go out today for Christmas - and get them all to the post office, drop off some gifts and food to Church - which is half an hour away, go to the grocery store, and pull all the Christmas boxes up from the basement! Do you ever feel like you are so far behind that you will NEVER catch up??? I was on the road ALL day yesterday until about 9:30 at night. Appointments, quick shopping trip, taking my son to work, taking the kids to youth group, taking my 5 year old to do her Christmas shopping while the others were at youth group, going to pick them all up, hustling them all home and into bed by 10 (2 hours past their normal bed time) chasing the kittens out of the tree and presents, cleaning up the kitchen, and falling into bed - i got nothing actually ACCOMPLISHED yesterday! Well... yes i did... helping Calli shop for her gifts for her siblings was an accomplishment! LOL! Well i guess i better get to it if i want to get even half of these things done before 2:30 when the kids start rolling in! If anyone has any Christmas elves floating around that are bored (since they finished at your house) can ya send them my way? Maybe just for a day? :P hugs, Bren

A Tisket a Tasket

It's been a couple of weird days.
Our washer broke last week.
6 people.
10 billion loads of wash per week
(ok maybe i'm exaggerating a little)
7 year old washer
you do the math!
Anyway.. the maytag man had to come to our house today.
I was so thankful he knew what he was doing, and he got in, fixed it, collected his money and was gone ... all within about 30 minutes! Woohoo! so our washer is back up and running!
Praise God!!

Today, a freakish thing happened...

the load in the back of my husband's truck shifted and crashed in his rear window on his truck.
Glass EVERY WHERE!
and i do mean everywhere
I was amazed at how much glass actually cam from that little window!
took us over an hour to suck it all up with the shop vac! All on the inside of the cab of his truck, all in the bed of the truck.. all under the seats and behind the seats..

Poor Danny. :(

I felt so bad for him :(
He was already having "one of those days" where it seemed
everything he touched turned sour. :(
and when it rains it pours!

donchya hate days like that? Where you feel like you are under attack ALL day long?

BUT... tomorrow is another day!
hopefully (prayerfully) a much better one!

AND
Christmas came a little early for Danny and I this year :)
Our cell phones were so old they wouldn't hold a charge anymore for longer than about ten minutes - which is a joke for a man who uses his ALL day for work!
It was suggested that Santa ought to bring new cell batteries for our stockings.
great idea!
IF
they made them anymore
and IF
when you found them they were under $150 each!
Soooo Santa took a different route and found out that our service (Verizon) gives us a free phone upgrade every two years! (well free for one of us anyway! lol)
And Santa got us two new (THE COOLEST EVA!!! ) phones!
We are both like little kids learning how to use our new phones (read toys)
and all the kewl things it can do!

front of mine

it opens up to a full qwerty keyboard and bigger screen

I had bought my husband a GPS navigation system for Christmas.
Well...get this...
our new phones have navigation systems IN THEM!!!! Seriously! Just like the tomtom!
So that's getting taken back! LOL!
He can check and return his emails while out on the road (metaphorically of course!)
He will be able to look up the nearest Home Depot very quickly on the web ...
(without having to call me and have me look it up for him)
He can search his email for the lockbox codes he has forgotten...
he can download music and videos and fun stuff
(not that he actually will... but he CAN! )
He can download mp3's - sermons, music whatever from the puter and listen to them on this!
DUDE!
This 'phone' ROCKS!!!!!!
Oh yah.. and you can actually call someone on it! LOL!
And he is so very excited about it coming and getting turned on today..
that with as rotten of a day as he had... this had him smiling tonight!
What little (or big) boy (or girl for that matter!!!) doesn't love to get a new toy every once in a while??!!

I think Santa did good this year!
(even if he was a bit early!)
:D

Cleaning? Must I ?

Ugh. My house is a disaster!
Cleaning today.
Must clean!

Must make room for Christmas tree! (very nervous about that with these little spazzes running around and climbing anything and everything!)
Ok, I don't REALLY believe that. (the wasted life part! lol)
I love it when my house is clean! The trick is getting it to STAY clean
with 6 people and all their stuff!
sheesh.
if only kids had the same ideals us adults do!!
Well time for me to pull on the gloves, grab the dust rag, mop and vacuum!
Carpe diem!
