The Thompson Kids get elfed!! (click on that) Give it time to load - it takes a little while, but is just hysterical!! LOL I have Tammy to thank for this - and for wasting half my day putting it together!! LOLOL But my kids have watched it over and over and are just howling, pointing fingers at each other telling them how silly THEY look!! (cuz ya know... THEY don't look silly at all! lol) Enjoy :) I should be back to posting soon! xo Bren

Funny of the day

Hi! I haven't been posting much this week ! Thanksgiving was wonderful, surrounded by loving family, good food and a competitive game of pictionary! We actually went shopping on black friday and scored some great deals. (gotta do it when you have 4 kids!!) Has been ultra cold here this week, and emily is finally recouperating from the flu. Poor thing! I just wanted to post this - it is one of the cutest things I have seen in a LONG time!! Enjoy!! http://birdloversonly.blogspot.com/2007/09/may-i-have-this-dance.html Have a blessed (and dancing) day! xo Bren

A little sewing

Today I am going to finally take the day to sit at my sewing machine!
Things have been crazy around here with the kittens racing around and peeing here there and everywhere!! Arrrgghhh!!!
They are precious, but oohhh I'm having to remember that when i see them squatting anywhere besides the litter box!!
The older cats seem to be a little more accepting, although we are definitely NOT at the point where they are "ok" with them being here! They just mostly ignore them now. :(

And bless her heart.. .Calli is in hog heaven having babies to tote around, and dote on, and rock to sleep!! Oh my!
She races home from school, throws her backpack at the door and zooms through the house looking for them! Not a minute goes by that they are not her top priority!

Anyhow... I have a plan today!
I am heading for the shower, and then straight down to my craft room to sew some wooly pouches that need to be finished up, and then I am going to do this:
http://heatherbailey.typepad.com/heather_bailey/2006/05/hooray_for_head.html#trackback

Heather Bailey had put up a free and fun little pattern for headbands... months ago!
I bought some darling fabrics, and elastic to make them, and have just not had the free time!
So today is the day! It will be a headband bonanza!! :D

If you haven't seen these, go take a peek.

They're fun, and very simple! I know Calli and Emily will be wearing them like crazy once I actually get them done!
I'll post a picture later!
Today I am grateful for the lovely quiet in the house. :)
Blessings, Bren

MORE Inspirations from MadHen!!

RUN - don't walk -to www.MadHen.com and get your copy of Tonya Benson's newest book!!! Due to ship out Friday - this amazingly talented lady has compiled a whole new book of inspired drawings that you can punch, stitch and hook!!
Tonya's first book was awesome - and I just got a sneak peak inside this one .... lemme just say RUN girls!!! Before she sells out!!! :D

Kittens everywhere!

The kittens are EVERYWHERE! LOL They have laid claim to my desk - mainly this one - if i am here, this is where she is! Rolling around on my papers and desk mess - and chasing the mouse arrow on my screen!! haha... i am forever putting her back down on the ground (or my lap! lol) just for her to run around and jump back up on the desk!

Every nook and cranny... no space is overlooked!

Good place to take a nap!

Until one of the kids (or her sister) comes running by!

It's official... cats and kittens alike LOVE wool. Where there is wool.. there you will find a feline!

I have a box of bolts of wool with some pieces laying on top, in my entryway (cough cough you didn't just hear that!) (and if you did, it's because i am out of room in my wool room - and this is closer to the kitchen where i dye! lol) anyway....
they have figured out how to get up on top of that tall box - because there's wool up there you see- and they have now claimed it as their bed!
Guess those pieces on top just got "written off" - as i don't allow my cats to get near or on the wool i sell!

Chasing the sun spots....
Ever sooooo hyper!!!!!
Lol... donchya just love the energy of kittens???

Unfortunately, Pounce does NOT find it very entertaining!!! :(
Here she is GLARING at them, while they play!

Ahhh... our week is almost up. And i THINK it might be doable. Pounce and Neekers* are at least coming IN the house now, and mostly ignoring them. So that's headway! LOL!
I don't know if they will ever be buddies though?
Or if Pounce and Neekers will fully adjust to having kids around??
Keeping my fingers crossed!
I am thankful for all the happy energy around me!! :)
Have a great day!
******************
(PS - I have had several people ask me why we named Neekers that. haha... because my husband and I are Dorks with capital D's!! :)
Have you ever heard that joke...?
"How do you catch a unique rabbit?"
(answer: u nique up on it!)
bahaha-hahahahaha!
ok.. quit laughing at me!! LOL
For some reason that joke hit our funny bone in a serious way when we heard it the first time! and shortly thereafter our kittens came into our life. Welll... our blackie was the dominant one and literally POUNCED on EVERYTHING... thus the name Pounce.
And Neekers.. you guessed it... she "niqued" up on everything - in the shyest way! (still does!) So we called her neeky (as in sneaky) which turned into neekers. :P She's our "unique" kitty!
so... ahem... cough...
yah. LOL

Busy?Lists? Organized?

I'm grateful to be busy, and even a little behind. (wow never thought I would hear myself say that!!) But it means that I am being blessed by an abundance of work - and that mostly keeps me out of trouble! LOL!

I never seem to ever feel totally 'caught up'. I started thinking about this yesterday and wondering why that is, since I am soo huge on getting orders out quickly!

And think I figured it out! It's a mental issue! :p

No seriously! Even while i am working on one, two or three things... my brain is already looking ahead and saying "ok.. i still gotta do this.. and this.. and that..." and when i'm done with those, i need to list things on ebay.. and clean the bathroom.. and and and... AND the mental list NEVER ends! So no matter how much I get done each day... i am forever feeling like there's still 50 things to be done, and I am never going to get them all finished! As I am crossing things off my list (yes i am a major list-aholic!!) that i have gotten accomplished... as new things come to mind they get added to the list... so basically the list is never ending! :-0 And sometimes as things come up they take priority over things that are already on the list - which kinda messes up my 'time frame plan'!

I often wish i were more organized. :( But I don't seem to be making any headway on that! :(

My business end of things is MUCH more organized than my personal side! And I am very grateful that i have some sense of organization in my life!! LOL Speaking of which i need to get off the computer and get to work! I need to go draw 4 patterns and get them packaged up and ready to go before noon, as I am babysitting for a girlfriend today - which shortens my work day considerably!

I hope you have a very blessed day today - and hoping y'all are wayyy more organized than I am!!!!!! :)

Blessings, Bren

Attitude of Gratitude

No pictures today. Just an attitude of gratitude! :) I am so thankful for my family! I am thankful for Sunday mornings, and singing praise unto God! I am thankful for the 4 seasons, and the beauty that surrounds me. I am thankful that my husband decided he needed to clean out the garage today, of all the things he has brought home the last few months! (lol my wonderful husband is in a line of work that he runs across awesome stuff - for free - ALL the time! So you can just imagine what our garage looks like! And the funny thing is, he tries sooo hard NOT to bring things home - but that's like telling a kid to live in a candy store and not eat any! hee hee Now if he would just find some antique pie safes.. a hoosier... lol) I am thankful that God provided the funds necessary for 3 of our children to attend the "Dare to Share" Christian Youth conference this weekend! And i'm ever so thankful that my kids have hearts for God!! And last but not least, I am grateful for the wonderful family of hookers that I have met here on the net through Wool Snippets! We are gearing up to do our yearly Secret Santa swap, and I can't help but get giddy with excitement that all these lovely ladies will be giving and receiving in love this coming season! For most of us it is something we look forward to all year - and for some this will be their first year. Regardless, it brings us all closer, with lots of laughter and joy! Thank you ladies for being my hooking family for the last 6 or so years! I love you, and am blessed by each of you every day!! Happy Sunday! I hope you are enjoying your day of rest! xo Bren

Gratefulness

I have taken the Grateful Days Challenge - put out by Jerusalem !!
Check it out and see if you want to jump on board!!
I am normally a very positive person.. one of those that can find the silver lining in every stormy cloud! And I thank God daily - many times a day!- for what he has blessed me with!!
But I think too often we do skip over those little things that we love, that make our face light up, and our soul sing! For the next couple weeks I will be listing things I am grateful for ~ and this is day one :)

I am so grateful for good friends, good rich coffee, and toothless little girls dressed up like cowgirls! :)

I'm thankful that I read Karen Russel's blog yesterday, after the tooth fairy didn't make it to our house!!! Durn tooth fairy must have been REALLY busy that night with so many kids loosing their teeth!? And i didn't feel like such a loser after reading how many other houses she has forgotten!!

(these two are already filling the spot of the 4 she has lost!!)
I am grateful for laughter, and seeing laugh lines on others - it's one of those little signs that i know we will hit it off immediately! :)
I am grateful that I still have my mom and dad!
And I'm grateful for lil furr balls that are full of energy!
Look at these faces!!!
We're thinking of naming the black and white one "curiosity" lolol... and of course then we'd have to name the other "satisfaction" !! har har!
Those may be too long of names though.. so we're still thinkin! :P

Have a very blessed day! What are you grateful for?

New Additions??

Wellllllllllll......... my husband fell in love!! LOL
He tried for days to convince me (like i need my arm twisted on this! lol) that it would be fun to bring some furry friends home for a sleep over! hee hee
I was more concerned about our two grown cats - who are HAPPY. Well.. they WERE!!! Until the munchkin invasion started last night!
I said yes, we can give it a one week trial, and if our cats don't seem to adjust, these guys are going back home. Warned the kids to "guard their heart", because it will very sad to see them go at the end of the week if Pounce and Neekers don't adjust well!! We're all crossing our fingers that they chill out and accept a "mommy role" ! LOL
How cute are these lil gals?? We are holding off on naming them until we know if they are staying! Ack!! Sooo hard!!!
This one immediately fell in love with Calli's doll house!! :D

After lots of excitement and playing these four snuggled in and crashed HARD!!!

Isn't this just the picture of pure devotion??
oh my..
it doesn't look like guarding her heart is even an option!
(truthfully my heart's already gone!! But we love our other kitties too much to make them feel like outsiders in their own home. So we shall see how this all goes down!! Needless to say the reactions of the older cats has NOT gone well so far! Hoping that changes!!)

Fall Glory

Is it any wonder why so many people love fall? All these gorgeous colors, the smell of drying leaves, the chill in the air... ahhhhh. I love it!! :)
Check out these sunflowers! I love sunflowers!! These were particularly cool - as they had purple leaves, and purply tipped petals! (they put purple dye in the water, and as the flower sucks them up, you can see the veins in the petals, and the leaves turn that color. Neato, huh?)
Well i am a woman who is easily pleased!! The simple things in life just delight me to no end! LOL! And these awesome flowers were on my table for about a week or so, and i smiled evertime I looked at them!
Try enlarging this photo to see better.

The colors of fall still around... but not for much longer!
My two favorites... Golds.....

And REDS!!!

But mostly, where ever you look, there is more on the ground than on the trees. (sniffle)

And this is what we are already seeing the most of! Sadness!! Fall comes and goes sooo quickly!
Bare trees :(
Soon winter will be here full force!
But I am so thankful to live where we have all four seasons!! :)
